PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a permanent magnet motor that prevents demagnetization due to heat generation in a permanent magnet by reducing eddy current loss due to an eddy current generated in the permanent magnet and improving a magnetic flux density distribution of an iron core, and also reduces use of a rare earth magnet.
SOLUTION : A permanent magnet motor 1 is constituted including a stator 17 and a rotor 10. The rotor 10 includes one iron core 16 and four magnet units 15. Each magnet unit 15 includes a plurality of magnets 11 and a plurality of gap parts 12. The plurality of magnets 11 are each formed decreasing in array-directional width of the plurality of magnets 11 from the array-directional center part of the plurality of magnets 11 toward both end parts. The width of array-directional gap parts 12 of the plurality of magnets 11 is a predetermined fixed-length width, for example, a distance K1.
