Provided are a rare earth sintered magnet having excellent corrosion resistance and improved temperature characteristics and strength, a method for manufacturing a rare earth sintered magnet, and a rotary machine. A rare earth sintered magnet includes at least a main phase (11) comprising an R2T14B chemical compound (where R is one or more rare earth element including as the principle component either or both of Nd and Pr, and T indicates one or more transition element including Fe or Fe and Co) and a grain boundary phase (15) containing more R than the main phase (11). The main phase (11) includes a heavy rare earth element (including at least either or both of Dy and Tb). The main phase grains of at least part of the main phase (11) contained in the rare earth sintered magnet include at least three regions, namely, a low concentration region (12), a high concentration region (13) and an intermediate concentration region (14). These three regions are present in the following order : low concentration region (12), high concentration region (13) and intermediate concentration region (14), from the low concentration region (12) going towards the grain boundary phase (15) in a main phase grain.
