PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a lithium manganese compound oxide granulated composition and its manufacturing method which has a high energy density and a high charge and discharge capacity, and excels in cycle characteristics when used for a positive electrode active material of a lithium ion secondary battery. SOLUTION : The lithium manganese compound oxide granulated composition is characterized in that general formula (1) is a compound oxide represented by Lix Mn1-a-b Cra Mb Oy (1) (wherein, M is B, Mg, Al, Si, Sc, Ti, V, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Ga, Y, Zr, Nb, Mo, Ru, Sn, Sb, Hf, Ta, Pb and at least one kind of elements selected from the group consisting of a rare earth element), a crystal system comprises a compound oxide in which the crystal system is monoclinic crystal or a mixture of the compound oxide in which the crystal system is monoclinic crystal and orthohombic crystal and an intensity ratio R defined by I (orthohombic crystal)/I (monoclinic crystal) in X-ray diffraction is within the range of 0 to 0.3.
