PURPOSE : A separator for fuel cell is provided to obtain electric conductivity and anti-oxidant required as a separator material, and to have excellent chrome poisoning resistance due to chrome diffused from inside the separator to outside.CONSTITUTION : A separator for fuel cell comprises a base metal, Ni-Co-rare earth metal alloy layer coated on the base metal. The base metal is stainless steel, and the base metal is ferrite-based stainless steel. The metal alloy layer consists of 50-90 weight% of Co, 0.01-0.1 weight% of rare earth metal, and residual Ni and unavoidable impurities. Average content of Co in the metal alloy layer becomes higher from interface toward a surface in a thickness direction based on the point of 1/2 of a total thickness.
