PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a continuously cast slab having a fine equiaxed dendrite structure at a high ratio, and to provide a continuous casting method which can efficiently add an element necessary for obtaining the slab into a molten steel. ŽSOLUTION : (1) Disclosed is the continuously cast slab of a steel characterized in that Sr of 0.0002 to 0.01 mass% is comprised in the steel, and the solidification structure of the slab is a steel structure having equiaxed dendrite. (2) Also disclosed is a continuous casting method for producing the slab mentioned in the (1) characterized in that, by inserting a metallic wire or rod comprising Sr or a metallic wire or rod comprising one or more selected from Mg and rare earth elements in addition to Sr into an immersion lance immersed into a molten steel within a tundish or a mold, metallic vapor and/or metallic grains are generated within the immersion lance, and the metallic vapor and/or metallic grains are added into the molten steel together with a carrier gas.
