PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To obtain a dielectric ceramic composition which has capacitance-temperature characteristics, i.e. a temporal change in capacitance, satisfying X8R characteristic of the EIA (Environmental Investigation Agency) standard, shows a small changes in Tc bias characteristics and a small change in resistance in an acceleration testing and is excellent in reliability, and to provide an electronic component. SOLUTION : The dielectric ceramic composition at least has an essential component containing barium titanate, a first subcomponent essentially comprising silicon oxide, a second subcomponent containing CaZrO3or a mixture of CaO and ZrO2, a third subcomponent comprising an oxide of a first rare-earth element (R1) selected from Sc, Er, Tm, Yb and Lu, a fourth subcomponent comprising an oxide of a second rare-earth element (R2) selected from Y, Dy, Ho, Tb, Gd and Eu, a fifth subcomponent selected from MgO, CaO, BaO and SrO and a sixth subcomponent selected from V2O5, MoO3and WO3.
