PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a coating composition which can hold a good laminate strength regardless of the kind of a used substrate and without lowering the laminate strength, even when a packaged content is a strongly permeable content, to provide a laminate, and to provide a laminating material for a strongly permeable content. SOLUTION : This coating composition is characterized by comprising a cationic polymer, a cross-linking agent for cross-linking the cationic polymer, and a solvent as essential components, and compounding a rare earth element-based oxide sol in an amount of 0.1 to 30 wt.% per 70 to 99.9 wt.% of the cationic polymer resin component containing the cross-linking agent.
