PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a new composition for giving a water stress adjustment action to fruit vegetables. SOLUTION : This fruit-vegetable-water stress adjusting composition includes rare sugar as the active ingredient. A method for cultivating fruit vegetables by using the composition is also provided. The composition raises the sugar contents of fruits and increases fruit weights. Furthermore, the combined application of the composition with the application of a high-concentration culture solution and a culture solution added with salts relieves excessive water stress, increases a fruit yield, and decreases physiological disorder of fruits, such as rot from the bottom so as to achieve productivity improvement.
