To provide a novel rare earth element skeleton-substituted zeolite that has enhanced NOx adsorption and a method for producing the zeolite, as well as a NOx adsorbent member, a catalyst for an automobile exhaust gas and the like with the zeolite.SOLUTION : A rare earth element skeleton-substituted zeolite at least contains a zeolite, and at least one or more rare earth elements selected from the group consisting of Ce, La, Nd, and Pr. A content ratio of the rare earth elements in total is 1-15 mass% relative to the total amount. Some of Al atoms and/or Si atoms constituting the skeleton of the zeolite are substituted by the rare earth elements.SELECTED DRAWING : Figure 2
