Provided is a neutron beam detection scintillator that not only releases fluorescent light of a release wavelength that can be received by a photomultiplier tube, but also releases fluorescent light of a release wavelength that a compact/lightweight silicon photodiode has high sensitivity towards, and moreover has a comparatively small effective atomic number causing it to be difficult to cause light release by means of gamma rays. The present invention is : a neutron beam detection scintillator comprising a monocrystal that contains at least 0.80 atom/nm3 of 6Li and that is a crystal having as a basic structure a colquiriite-type fluoride monocrystal containing at least two elements selected from the rare earth elements such as Ce, Eu, and the like, for example of the sort represented by the general formula MXMYMZF6 (MX contains Li without fail, and is Li, Na, etc.; MY is Ca, Mg, etc.; and MZ is Al, Ga, etc.); and a neutron beam detection device provided with the neutron beam detection scintillator and a photodetector.
