PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rubber composition for tires, which maintains excellent vulcanization stability, improves low fuel consumption, mechanical strength and abrasion resistance in good balance and a pneumatic tire using the rubber composition for tires in each member (especially tread) of tires. SOLUTION : The rubber composition for tire includes a rubber component containing natural rubber and butadiene rubber synthesized by using a rare earth element-based catalyst, a compound represented by formula (1) [wherein p is an integer of 2-8] and/or formula (2) [wherein q is an integer of 2-8; Mr+ is a metal ion; r is its valence], carbon black and a compound represented by formula (A) [wherein Y is 2-10C alkylene; R10 and R11 are the same or different and nitrogen-containing monovalent organic group].
