PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for recovering a cerium oxide polishing agent which is simple in process and superior in the recovery efficiency of the cerium oxide polishing agent, in particular, superior in the recovery efficiency of rare earth oxides contained in the cerium oxide polishing agent, and to provide a recovered product containing the cerium oxide polishing agent obtained by the method for recovery. SOLUTION : The method for recovering the cerium oxide polishing agent includes at least a cracking step of mixing caked polishing-agent waste containing the cerium oxide polishing agent and polished glass debris with an acid aqueous solution or an alkali aqueous solution, and cracking the caked polishing-agent waste with a cracking machine.
