PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an anisotropic rare earth sintered magnet having a tetragonal R2Fe14B compound (R is one or more kinds of rare earth elements mainly consisting of Nd) as a main magnetic phase, and two oriented axes of c-axis and a-axis being crystal axes of the compound phase crystal.
SOLUTION : Orientation control of two axes of a magnetization easy axis, c-axis, and a magnetization hard axis, a-axis, which are crystal axes of the main phase of Nd magnet powder can fabricate a magnet with a biaxially oriented sintered body when applying a magnetic field during molding in a magnetic field. Orientation of the two axes of c-axis and a-axis of respective sintered grains smoothly connects the sintered grains through a nonmagnetic grain boundary phase, and smooths shapes in vicinities of grain boundary surfaces. Consequently, Hc with an Hcj of 1.6 MA/m or more can be realized without addition of Dy and/or Tb.
