PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method of selectively recovering rare alkali metal ions such as lithium ions from ordinary alkali metal ions.
SOLUTION : The rare alkali metal ions are collected through the following steps : a step A of forming an aqueous phase and an oil phase by bringing an alkali metal ion mixture aqueous solution, which contains rare alkali metal salt ions such as lithium ions and alkali metal salt ions such as sodium ions, into contact with an alkali metal ion extractant composed of dialkylphophoric acid in the presence of hydrocarbon; a step B of separating the aqueous phase and the oil phase from each other; a step C of forming an aqueous phase and an oil phase by bringing the oil phase separated in the step B with an acid in the presence of water; a step D of separating the aqueous phase and the oil phase from each other; and a step E of recovering the rare alkali metal salt ions from the aqueous phase.
