PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a light emitting device with high reliability. SOLUTION : The light emitting device has a conductive member and a light emitting element located on the conductive member. The conductive member has a base material including Fe or Cu, and a metal layer provided on it. The metal layer has a first metal layer of metal including at least one kind selected from Ni, or Ni and Co, Pd, Sn, W and Zn, and a second metal layer which is provided on the first metal layer, is metal including at least one kind selected from Ag, or Ag and Zn, Sn, In, Bi, Au, Rh, Ru and rare earth element, and serves as a surface layer of the conductive member.
