PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for the continuous casting of steel, which makes nozzles hardly cloggable even when REM (rare earth metal) is added to molten steel. SOLUTION : In the method for the continuous casting of steel, the molten steel 11 is poured into a casting mold 16 through one or more nozzles 13 and 15, and a cast piece 17 is continuously pulled out from the bottom of the casting mold 16. The molten steel 11 contains ≥0.0003 mass% REM and ≥0.1 mass% Al. Further, a refractory 24 containing ≥10 mass% CaO is laid in at least a part of the inner face exposed to the molten steel 11, of at least one of the nozzles 13 and 15. COPYRIGHT : (C)2008, JPO&INPIT
