PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a collection method of rare earth alloy powder, which performs demagnetization treatment and crashing treatment at the same time in a hydrogen atmosphere to a rare earth magnet which is wholly covered with a plated layer, separates an alloy component and a plated portion, and collects the rare earth alloy powder.
SOLUTION : In the collection method of the rare earth alloy powder which collects the rare earth alloy powder 1b from the rare earth magnet 1 which is wholly covered with the plated layer 1a, a linear notch 2 reaching the rare earth magnet 1 is formed at the plated layer 1a of the rare earth magnet 1, after that, the rare earth magnet 1 is put into the hydrogen atmosphere furnace 3, and a temperature in the furnace is raised to a temperature at which a hydrogen absorption phenomenon occurs, and held for a certain period of time. Thus, a large number of cracks are generated at a rare earth alloy. Then the rare earth alloy is crashed to be separated to the plated layer 1a and the rare earth alloy powder 1b, and the rare earth alloy is demagnetized and collected by utilizing a heat generation reaction at the crashing of the rare earth alloy.
