PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method of manufacturing a semiconductor ceramic, a semiconductor ceramic, and a PTC thermistor, capable of avoiding increase in resistance, for obtaining a semiconductor ceramic with excellent reliability. SOLUTION : Ba compound, Ti compound, rare earth compound, and further Ca compound and/or Sr compound are mixed together and thermally treated to prepare first thermal treatment powder comprising BaTiO3 based composition. Further, alkaline metal compound containing alkaline metal M (for example, Na, Li), Bi compound, Ba compound, and Ti compound are mixed together and thermally treated to prepare second thermally treated powder represented by a general formula (M, Bi)1-xBaxTiO3 (where, 0.025≤x≤0.15). The first thermally treated powder and the second thermally treated powder are mixed together and molded to produce a molding, which is then sintered to provide a semiconductor ceramic.
