PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for producing a single crystal having reduced Pb content with respect to the method for producing the single crystal such as a magnetic garnet by a flux method. ?SOLUTION : A material containing sodium (Na) and boron (B) is filled in a crucible 4 made of gold (Au), and then a melt 8 is formed by melting the material, and thereafter, a rare earth-iron garnet single crystal is grown by using the melt 8.
