The present invention relates to a method of control and follow-up of the production of a gas starting from a drilled well, in particular in a geological reserve of weak permeability and porosity, in which one carries out the following stages : - one takes gas samples in the course of production of the well, - one takes measurements of concentration of at least two rare gas isotopes contained in the samples, and one calculates at least two isotopic reports/ratios, - one deduces from the measured isotopic reports/ratios, the curve of distillation which gives the report/ratio F of the quantity of gas produced on the producible quantity of gas by the well, for each taking away.
