PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an inorganic phosphor for electron beam excitation which does not contain an expensive element such as a rare earth element, can widely shift its emission wavelength only by changing an activating material, excels in moisture resistance, can stably emit light, and excels in durability, and a method for producing the same.
SOLUTION : The inorganic phosphor for electron beam excitation has a transition metal ion- or typical metal ion-doped hydronium ion-containing alunite structure. The phosphor is produced by mixing an aqueous nitric acid solution prepared by dissolving the predetermined transition metal or typical metal in nitric acid, an aqueous aluminum nitrate solution and elemental sulfur, housing the mixture in a closed space, and heating this to perform hydrothermal synthesis.
