PURPOSE : A water-soluble fluid for use in the processing of a rare earth magnet is provided to agglomerate and precipitate fine oxides and/or hydroxides by including a polymeric coagulant. CONSTITUTION : A water-soluble fluid for use in machining of rare earth magnet is an aqueous solution comprising an organic acid, a basic compound, and a polymeric coagulant. The polymeric coagulant is a nonionic polymeric coagulant. The polymeric coagulant is present in a concentration of 5 to 1, 000 ppm.
