PURPOSE : A touch screen apparatus and terminal operation method using the same are provided to solve the constraint of a space by installing the touch screen apparatus at the rare side of a terminal. CONSTITUTION : A touch screen(111) includes a first and a second touch recognition area and generates a touch signal based on a touch motion about a touch area. A touch screen control unit(112) generates a control signal based on a generation coordinate and detects the generation coordinate of the touch signal in which is generated in a touch recognition area. A processor(113) displays a key input area and a touch position on the screen of a terminal by responding the control signal and operates the input key of a key input area corresponding to the generation coordinate.
