PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an amorphous metal with which a magnetic material can be inexpensively produced at good workability and productivity, and also to provide the magnetic material obtained by using the amorphous metal.
SOLUTION : In the amorphous metal containing rare-earth metals, iron and boron, the atomic ratio of rare-earth metals is regulated to be in the range of 22-44 atom%, and that of boron in the range of 6-28 atom%. The magnetic material is obtained by heat-treating the amorphous metal at a temperature of or higher than a temperature lower by 30°C than the crystallization temperature thereof, or at a temperature of glass transition point or higher when the amorphous metal exhibits a glass transition phenomenon.
