PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a hydrogen storage alloy for an alkaline storage battery having improved output by pulverizing the hydrogen storage alloy at the initial stage of a partial charge/discharge cycle and having the improved amount of lifetime work by maintaining its surface condition, and to provide the alkaline storage battery and an alkaline storage battery system.
SOLUTION : The hydrogen storage alloy for the alkaline storage battery has composition formula represented by LaxReyMg1-x-yNin-m-vAlmTv (Re : a rare earth element including Y, T : Co, Mn, Zn, 0.17≤x≤0.64, 3.5≤n≤3.8, 0.60≤m≤0.22, and v≥0). Its main-phase crystal structure is a A5B19 type structure, and a ratio X/Y of a concentration ratio X of Al to Ni in the surface layer thereof to a concentration ratio Y of Al to Ni in the bulk layer thereof is 0.36-0.85. The alkaline storage battery provides the hydrogen storage alloy for a negative electrode, and the alkaline storage battery system performs partial charge/discharge control.
