PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method of manufacturing a rare earth sintered magnet which improves corrosion resistance while minimizing the lowering of flux.
SOLUTION : In the method of manufacturing a rare earth sintered magnet having a main phase containing a R2T14B compound, and a grain boundary phase containing Co and Cu and more Nd than the R2T14B compound, the powder of a main phase based alloy containing R12Fe14B and inevitable impurities but not containing Co and Cu is mixed with the powder of a grain boundary phase based alloy containing R2, Fe, Co and Cu where the content of R2 is 25-50 mass%, the content of Co is 5-50 mass%, and the content of Cu is 0.3-10 mass%, and then the mixture thus obtained is molded and sintered to manufacturing a rare earth sintered magnet which contains 0.6-3.0 mass% of Co, and 0.05-0.5 mass% of Cu as a final composition.
