PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide composite thermoelectric materials which use an MNiSn-based half Heusler compound as a base phase, and uniformly disperse oxide particulates inside grains of the base phase, and a method for manufacturing the same.
SOLUTION : There are provided the composite thermoelectric materials including the following structure and the method for manufacturing the same. (a) The composite thermoelectric materials include the base phase composed of thermoelectric materials and oxide particles of one or more types which deposit at least inside the grains of the base phase. (b) The base phase includes a half Heusler compound having a composition represented by the general formula : (M1-aAa)1+x(Ni1-bBb)1+y(Sn1-cCc) under 0≤a<0.1, 0≤b<0.1, 0≤c<0.1, -0.1≤x≤0.2, and 0≤y≤0.2. M is Ti, Zr, and/or Hf. A is a group IIIa element, a group IVa element, a group Va element, and/or a rare-earth element. B is a group VIIIa element, and/or a group Ib element. C is a group IIIb element, a group IVb element, and/or a group Vb element. (c) The oxide particles includes a transition metal element, a rare-earth element, a group IIb element, a group IIIb element, and/or a group IVb element.
