PURPOSE : A magnesium alloy and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to maintain the original purpose of alloy without changes in alloy specification by directly forming the phase of intermetallic compounds using alkaline earth metal oxide. CONSTITUTION : A manufacturing method of a magnesium alloy is as follows. A magnesium alloy is molten into liquid(S1). Alkaline earth metal oxide is added to molten metal in which the magnesium alloy is dissolved(S2). At least a part of the alkaline earth metal oxide is reduced in the magnesium alloy through the reaction between the alkaline earth metal oxide and the molten magnesium alloy(S4). At least a part of the alkaline earth metal oxide reacts in the magnesium alloy(S5). COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
