PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for producing a dielectric ceramic material which is suitable for making thin a dielectric layer having a small particle diameter and high crystallinity in an extensive calcination temperature range. SOLUTION : The method for producing the dielectric ceramic material by reacting an alkaline earth metal compound with a titanium dioxide in a solid phase reaction includes a pulverizing and mixing step where a mixed powder including the powder of the alkaline earth metal compound and the powder of the titanium dioxide is pulverized and mixed in the coexistence of an ammonia compound and a calcination step to obtain the powder of a titanic acid alkaline earth metal salt by calcining the pulverized and mixed powder.
