PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a nickel-hydrogen storage battery superior in high-rate discharge performance and charge and discharge cycle performance. SOLUTION : This hydrogen storage alloy electrode contains nickel powder and the hydrogen storage alloy powder in which a rare earth element and a transitional element are main components, and in which hydrogen can be stored and released, and the hydrogen storage alloy powder is composed of two kinds or more of the hydrogen storage alloy powder with different hydrogen equilibrium dissociation pressures. As for the high equilibrium pressure hydrogen storage alloy powder with the highest hydrogen equilibrium pressure, in the condition of 60°C and 0.5 wt% of hydrogen storage capacity, the hydrogen equilibrium pressure is 0.65 MPa or more, and as for the low equilibrium hydrogen storage alloy powder with the lowest hydrogen equilibrium pressure, in the condition of 60°C and 0.5 wt% of hydrogen storage capacity, the hydrogen equilibrium pressure is 0.1 MPa or less.
