PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a golf ball with excellent flying capability and abrasion resistance, and soft hitting feel. SOLUTION : A solid core of the multi-piece solid golf ball is formed of a rubber composition including a rubber base material including polybutadiene synthesized by using a rare earth element-based catalyst, a small quantity of organic peroxide, unsaturated carboxylic acid and/or its metal salt, an organic sulfur compound and an inorganic filler, and an intermediate layer comprising at least one layer is formed of a thermoplastic resin composition. A cover of the golf ball is formed of a mixture including a resin composition including ionomer resin and an inorganic filler as a main component. Accordingly, the multi-piece solid golf ball with very excellent flying capability compared with a conventional golf ball, high abrasion resistance and cracking durability in the cover and soft hitting feel can be provided.
