PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a high luminous efficiency light-emitting substance including a rare earth complex having a ligand controllable of the intermetallic distance within the molecule.
SOLUTION : The light-emitting substance includes an Eu(III) complex represented by [Eu2(tzv)6(phen)2] (wherein Eu can be replaced with Tb, Dy or Sm) in which phenanthroline (phen) and ω-(1H-tetrazolyl)valeric acid (tzv) of an alkyl derivative of tetrazole as ligands are linked to the Eu(III) of a rare earth ion by coordinate bonds and an Eu(III) complex represented by [Eu(phen-C18)2(NO3)3] in which a ligand (phen-C18) in which stearic acid is linked to phenanthroline and a nitrate ion (NO3-) are linked to the Eu(III) by coordinate bonds.
