PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a strip made of a high-manganese steel obtained by a method of more rapidly, and inexpensively producing the same than heretofore.
SOLUTION : A thin strip made of the iron-carbon-manganese alloy and having a thickness of 1.5 to 10 mm is cast directly on a casting machine from a molten metal comprising, by weight, 0.001-1.6% C, 6-30% Mn, ≤10% Ni, 16-30% (Mn+Ni), ≤2.5% Si, ≤6% Al, ≤10% Cr, ≤0.2% (P+Sn+Sb+As), ≤0.5% (S+Se+Te), ≤3% (V+Ti+Nb+B+Ta+Zr+rare earths), ≤0.5% (Mo+W), ≤0.3% N, ≤5% Cu, and the balance being iron and impurities resulting from the smelting. The strip is cold rolled with a reduction ratio ranging between 10 and 90% in one or more steps, and undergoes recrystallization annealing.
