PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an optical material improving moldability when compared with the conventional one while retaining excellent absorption or emission properties for light of a predetermined wavelength. SOLUTION : The near-infrared absorptive composition includes a phosphonic acid compound such as ethylphosphonic acid, vinylphosphonic acid; a phosphinic acid compound such as dimethylphosphinic acid, diphenylphosphinic acid; and a metal ion such as a copper ion, a rare earth metal ion contained in a solvent or a resin, resulting in absorption or emission properties for light of a predetermined wavelength and reduced possibility of thermal decomposition when compared with the conventional one.
