PURPOSE : A method for irradiating ultraviolet rays is provided to enable high efficiency hardening and ultraviolet irradiation to a photoinitiator using a resin composition containing photoinitiator having a specific absorption wavelength range as an object to be irradiated. CONSTITUTION : A method for irradiating ultraviolet rays comprises the steps of : preparing a resin composition containing a photoinitiator; and irradiating ultraviolet rays to the resin composition from a metal halide lamp which includes an arc tube(11) and a pair of electrodes(121, 122) arranged within the arc tube and has rare-gas, mercury, iron, thallium and tin sealed within the arc tube.
