PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a water treatment apparatus high in reliability which improves water treatment performance. SOLUTION : The water treatment apparatus, including a reactor 1 having a water conduit 1a, a nozzle 1b, and a high-voltage side electrode 1d and an earth-side electrode 1e, which form a discharge part 1c, and a high-voltage power source 2 connected with the high-voltage side electrode 1d and the earth-side electrode 1e, supplies a water 3 to be treated with a constant pressure, generates fine cavitation bubbles, forms discharge plasma in it and carries out treatment such as decomposition and synthesis of a substance to be treated such as an organic material contained in the water to be treated, wherein the water treatment apparatus is structured such that the high-voltage side electrode 1d and the earth-side electrode 1e are each inserted from opposite directions, respsectively, toward the central part into the back stage of the nozzle 1b of the reactor 1, and arranged parallel at a certain interval and also a tip part of each electrode is made to project to the central part of a conduit cross section.
