PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare earth magnet that is enhanced in coercive force and residual magnetic flux density. SOLUTION : The rare earth magnet is a magnet of a block body which principally comprises a compound of a rare earth element, iron or cobalt, and a fluorine atom and contains a compound of iron and a fluorine atom, a portion of the block body having a higher fluoride concentration of iron or cobalt than any other part.
