PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an application of oxynitride phosphor exhibiting a luminance higher than that of conventional rare earth-activated sialon phosphor.
SOLUTION : A light-emitting instrument composed of a light-emitting source and a phosphor is composed of a JEM phase as the host crystal, wherein the JEM phase contains a luminescence center element M1, (provided that M1 is at least an element selected from the group consisting of Ce, Eu, and Tb), and comprises the oxynitride phosphor represented by MAI(Si6-zAlz)N10-zOz, (wherein M is an element selected from metal elements including the M1, and 0.1≤z≤3).
