A light-diffusing sheet (light diffuser) includes a molded resin and light-scattering particles dispersed in the molded resin. The light-scattering particles are rare earth phosphate particles. The light-scattering particles present per unit volume of the molded resin have a surface area of 0.600 m2/cm3or less. The light-scattering particles preferably have a volume cumulative particle size D50at 50% in the volume-based cumulative particle size distribution of 0.1 to 20 µm as measured by the laser diffraction method. The light-scattering particles preferably have a D99/D50value of 10 or less, wherein D99is the volume cumulative particle size at 99% in the volume-based cumulative particle size distribution as measured by the laser diffraction method.
