Provided is an ink composition that contains a rare-earth complex containing one trivalent rare-earth ion selected from the group consisting of Eu3+, Tb3+, Sm3+, Er3+, Pr3+, Ho3+, Tm3+, and Dy3+ and a phosphine oxide ligand coordinated to the particular rare-earth ion, and that contains a light-emitting material different from the rare-earth complex, wherein the absolute value of the difference between the wavelength (λ1) of the maximum emission intensity of the rare-earth complex and the wavelength (λ2) of the maximum emission intensity of the light-emitting material is at least 50 nm.
