PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an electricity storage material in a highly efficient, productive, and inexpensive manner which is used for normally or quickly charging a battery or an electric double layer capacitor of an autonomous recovery-type power generator and a method for manufacturing the electricity storage material.
SOLUTION : The electricity storage material is one in which quick charge is made to porous carbon particles obtained by pulverizing and screening intrinsically porous Bicho charcoal, or monodisperse micron-or nano-carbon particles obtained by pulverizing and screening porous residues obtained by subjecting wood, bamboo, bark, wastes from the vegetable fiber industry, etc. to a high temperature treatment for a long time in an improved charcoal kiln under a high temperature condition. The electricity storage material for normal charge is obtained by adding ion-emitting fine particles to the polydisperse fine particles that are screened out and left. The ion-emitting fine particles promote ionic migration and accumulation in and around the pores of the porous carbon particles, which makes the charge smoother. The ion-emitting substance is fine particles of a rare earth ore exhibiting hormesis with very low radiation level such as ores of monazite, yttrium phosphate, bastnesite, radium, Bad Gastein, tourmaline, Bakuhanseki (a granite porphyry), and alumina ceramic.
