PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a hydrogen storage alloy having improved varous characteristics including durability. SOLUTION : This hydrogen storage alloy is expressed by the general formula of MmAlaMnbCocNid [wherein, Mm is misch metal, the content of La in the misch metal is 21 to 28 wt.% to the total of the alloy, (a) is 0.25 to 0.35, (b) is 0.35 to 0.45, (c) is 0.2 to 0.4, (d) is 4.1 to 4.4, and the ratio of the total molar number of Al, Mn, Co and Ni to the mol of Mm is 5.2 to 5.4]. By controlling the content of La in the misch metal to 21 to 28 wt.% to the whole of the alloy which has not been indicated in the conventional hydrogen storage alloy, the durability of the hydrogen storage alloy particularly improves.
