PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for manufacturing a rare-earth permanent magnet excellent in salt water resistance.
SOLUTION : The method for manufacturing a rare-earth permanent magnet excellent in salt water resistance is configured as follows. The method includes a step for executing the oxidation heat treatment at 200-500°C after forming a Mg-containing Al film by vapor deposition on the surface of a rare-earth permanent magnet. Regarding the oxidation heat treatment, it is desirable to adopt a method for executing the oxidation heat treatment under an atmosphere that oxygen partial pressure is 1×102 to 1×105 Pa while water vapor partial pressure is 0.1-1, 000 Pa (however, excluding 1, 000 Pa).
