PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for manufacturing an R-T-B based rare earth sintered magnet for manufacturing an R-T-B based rare earth sintered magnet having high magnetic characteristics, especially, an excellent coercive force with a high yield. SOLUTION : This method for manufacturing an R-T-B based rare earth sintered magnet includes : a treatment process for preparing treated alloy by carrying out HDDR treatment to R-T-B based raw material alloy; a crashing process for preparing alloy powder whose mean particle diameter is equal to or less than 2 μm by crushing the treated alloy; and a sintering process for preparing a sintered body by molding and sintering the alloy powder in a magnetic field.
