PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a manufacturing process for a ceramic material powder which can be suitably used for forming a uniform solid solution of a main component and an auxiliary component, and to provide a manufacturing process of highly reliable ceramic electronic component. SOLUTION : The manufacturing process of a ceramic material powder comprises a step of wet mixing a raw material powder which is the major ingredient with the raw material powder which is the auxiliary ingredient including a rare earth element R, wherein R is at least one selected from Dy, Ho and Y, in which the rare earth element R is added by using oxalate powder. As a result, a ceramic material powder which is free from compositional deviation and thus can contain the auxiliary ingredient raw material having been uniformly dissolved as a solid solution into the main ingredient raw material. In addition, highly reliable ceramic electronic components can be manufactured because fabricated by using the ceramic material powder which can contain the auxiliary ingredient raw material having been uniformly dissolved as a solid solution into the main ingredient raw material.
