PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for enhancing cell functions. SOLUTION : A cell for a solid polymer fuel cell is composed by pinching through a separator a unit cell formed through arranging a reaction layer on both sides of an ion exchange polymer membrane. The reaction layer is composed of the carbon powders, where a rare metal is positioned on the surface of a carbon black. Along with this, the carbon powders have plural distributions for a pore diameter, in which the peak of distributions for the pore diameter is in a range of 9-40 nm, as well as a half-value width is controlled to be in a range of 30-50 nm.
