UV light-reflecting layer contains at least 10, preferably 10-70 wt.% Al2O3, and at least 10 wt.% of a material having a higher refractive index than Al2O3. An Independent claim is also included for a process for applying a layer of UV light-reflecting onto lamp glass. Preferred Features : The material having a higher refractive index than Al2O3 is selected from zirconium dioxide, doped zirconium dioxide, yttrium oxide, hafnium oxide and rare earth oxides.
