PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a polylactic acid fiber having excellent hydrolytic resistance, particularly in a dyeing and finishing step : and to provide a fiber structure comprising the fiber. SOLUTION : The polylactic acid fiber includes a polylactic acid resin composition. The polylactic acid resin composition is prepared by formulating a polylactic acid resin with an epoxy compound, and at least one compound selected from among hydrotalcite, oxide of alkaline earth metal, hydroxide of the alkaline earth metal, and carbonate of the alkaline earth metal in a specific ratio. An acid generated when degrading the polylactic acid promotes hydrolysis of the polylactic acid. The acid is neutralized with at least one compound selected from among the hydrotalcite, oxide of the alkaline earth metal, hydroxide of the alkaline earth metal, and carbonate of the alkaline earth metal to thereby remarkably improve the hydrolytic resistance as compared with the formulation thereof alone, respectively. Thus, the polylactic acid fiber can be used in wider applications than those of the conventional product. COPYRIGHT : (C)2010, JPO&INPIT
