PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method of manufacturing an organic photoelectric conversion element with flexibility, capable of obtaining a desirable electrical joint between an upper layer and a lower layer, and also, preventing element lifetime deterioration by light irradiation, improving mechanical adhesion, and improving the efficiency of energy conversion, element lifetime, and further durability against repeated twist.
SOLUTION : The method is provided for manufacturing the organic photoelectric conversion element, which has at least a photoelectric conversion layer and a hole transporting layer or an electron transporting layer between a first electrode and a second electrode by lamination and coating. The method includes a process of activating at least one layer constituting the organic photoelectric conversion element by plasma discharge treatment under existence of a reactant gas and a carrier gas composed of rare gas or nitrogen, and under an atmospheric pressure or a nearly equal pressure before applying a coating liquid.
