PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a platiniridium alloy having high durability, in which crystal grains are not coarsened even though having been used at high temperature for a long period of time. SOLUTION : This platiniridium alloy is produced by adding an alkaline-earth metal element to a conventionally used platiniridium alloy to precipitate particles of an intermetallic compound therein.
